Happy birthday Queen Michelle!
I'm guess I'm one of those long time readers who just lurks, but I wanted to take time on this special day to tell you what an inspiration you are.
I'm turning 26 in a few months and entering your late twenties is kind of scary. It's that time in your life (or at least for me it is) when you really try to figure things out and carve a place for yourself in the world, trying to build a career, trying to deal with real stress and real responsibilities for the first time. It's the first time when growing older starts to look daunting. I get worried that as I'll grow older I won't be able do wear certain things or do certain things, that I'll forget how to have fun. That my life will just be joyless and boring.
And then I come to this blog and I look at you and I realize I don't need to worry about those things. Reading your posts, admiring your bold outfits, watching how you've taken up ballet and really poured yourself into it... I think you are very brave and really inspiring. I think it takes a lot of courage to march to the beat of your own drum and I wanted to thank you for sharing it all with us.
So I want to wish you a happy birthday again and give you a big old internet hug!

Thanks all you guys for kindly taking the time to wish me a happy birthday!
Ioana, getting older IS scary and you have expressed your thoughts very eloquently. I have freak outs when I suddenly realise I'm half way through my life or less. I still feel mentally and physically youthful so I won't let my age get in the way from beginning anything. Of course, I am now seeing how ageist the world is and how other people dictate what you can and can't do based entirely on your DOB. It's frustrating but as anyone who knows me will you, when someone tells me I can't do something that just makes me want to do it even more! I've basically lived my life doing things people tell me I can't! As long as you keep yourself healthy, youth really is just a state of mind x
