Scottish weather is famously changeable.
It sounds like a joke, but sometimes we really do experience four seasons in a single day.
But the weather the last couple of weeks has been especially strange.
Cold and grey in the morning, warm, sticky clammy and close in the afternoon, but always with rain.
Rain, rain, never ending sodding rain.
My poor garden is a total disaster. The lack of sunshine means that all the bedding plants are failing to come to anything at all, while other more established plants are so sodden, they are in danger of actually rotting in the rain.
The only things that seem to be making a go of it are my nastursiums.
But the rain has been so heavy that it actually looks like it is washing the colour off of the blooms.
In the last week alone, the big cup has been filled up with rain to the brim more than twice!!!!
I love nastursiums. They are an edible flower although I confess I don't eat mine.
I do however plan to wear some soon...
Yesterday I wandered into the felt meadow on etsy and found the most glorious felted nastusium necklace you ever did see.
The lovely FM, felts the beautiful flowers using a wet felting technique. from high quality natural wool and silk that she dyes herself.
In fact I was so smitten with her work, that I couldn't resist buying the violet one too.
They should look amazing piled one on top of the other...
So even if summer doesn't actually come to my garden, I can enjoy felted blooms all season long...
