I got an email from a lovely reader, Emily, who sent me a link to the work of Katie Gallagher, saying it reminded her very much of the clothes I wear. She was, of course, spot on. I featured Katie in 2009 but admit that I haven't written about her since. More fool me because Katie has been quietly honing her skills and refining her signature look of sheer panelling, volume, zips and lots of shiny PVC.
I am like a moth to a flame for this aesthetic and will wear it until it's just not possible for me to get away with it any longer. Katie clearly design with herself in mind with her shock of white hair, tiny little frame and large doe eyes, she's the perfect poster girl for the couture cyber punk look she has worked so hard to create so perfectly.
