My search for amazing shirts is a constant. It's always there, in the part of my brain that deals with fashion. I have these little mental lists of things that would complete my wardrobe. The only problem is, there are lots of those little lists!
But, at the moment, perfect sheer and silk shirts are evading me somewhat. It's not just the sheerness and softness of the silk that's a consideration, but also the cut and, especially, how the lapels sit. There is has to be certain degree of sharpness to the silhouette to counteract the softness of fabric, which is why the lapels are of utmost importance. Sheer, by it's nature, is quite racy so sheer shirts, especially, should be demurely buttoned all the way up to create some degree of balance.
It was with great delight, that I found the most perfect sheer and silk shirts, in a plethora of mouth-watering ice scream shades, courtesy of Calista.
This is a label I have featured before and their ss11 collection is just gorgeous, not just for the shirts, but for the very modern shapes and mix of masculine and feminine aesthetics.
They present such a lovely combination of colours, it's hard to not feel rather enticed into wearing such hues. As a fan of assymetric hemlines, particularly skirts and dresses which sit higher at the front and drape low at the back, the whole collection is calling me. I hope these tones begin to filter down to the high street because I think I need and orange silk shirt and a lilac flippy skirt in my life.
