I was really pleased to see that Michael Van Der Ham didn't deviate too far from his AW09 collection which he explained had been inspired by Andy Warhol, who'd dissected designer dresses and joined various parts of each of the dresses together to create beautifully, mismatched frocks. The influence obviously extending past a single season and perhaps more accurately describes Ham's overall aesthetic.
The patchwork aspect makes the dresses so youthful and fun whilst the varying lengths incorporated into some of the garments lend them a tougher feel, as does the lovely mix of textures and prints/colours. Although I must admit that it was quite cringey watching the video as none of the girls could walk in the shoes which made their movements look somewhat clumsy and laboured, and did prove a distraction for me personally.

Love the collection but I see what you mean about the shoes! They do look pretty impossible to walk in with the heel collapsing to one side though! x

Those shoes make the models look like they are going to fall any minute. The collection is quite interesting, though!

Adored the collection. The last model seemed to pull the walk best off.

Lovely dresses, but yes you are right about the models. The heels didn't even look that high, I'm thinking there was some type of flaw that was making them walk so wonky. Or perhaps we need to hire ourselves out as heel pros to teach these girls how to walk in stilts? (;

Wow, those models + those shoes = disastrous. I have a few old frocks I could do a bit of DiY on...

see what you mean about the shoe issue, but perhaps because they all wobbled everywhere we can conclude it wasn't entirely the models fault !?
interesting concept for the collection, some pieces really work, and some just don't..but great to see someone try something different
