As I mentioned in the post with the glorious dress from Dust, we collaborated on a project - entering the Iconique competition. In truth, we did it mostly as a project we'd both enjoy and not for any grand hopes of winning.
We wanted to visually explore the concept of the dress Dust designed - that of destruction and reconstruction. Dust has a better explaination, but essentially Dust's illustrations represent triumph over chaos and destruction; the strong surviving in a post-apocolyptic world .
My part in the collaboration was pretty minimal to be honest, Dust put in the hard work. I shot the photos and created the industrial collage, but Dust did the illustrations and her partner Natalie created some artwork too. It was rewarding exploring different mediums and seeing how an artist would translate my very simple photographs.
But I'm most excited by the fact that in some of these drawings I have weapons! I think deep down I really do want to be some kind of super hero!
Queen Michelle

LOVE the last drawing of you with a spear! Fierce!!! You could be a Mad Max type character - Mad Michelle?!

That is pretty wonderful!
The more I look at the dress, and think about the concept, the more I love it.
What boots are those? You have mentioned them before, but I can't remember. I love them!

I'm glad you guys like the character we have created! Michelle did more than just a bit, she is just modest. It was very special experience, working with somebody you never met or talked to even, but it worked!! It looks like that taking risk and leaving the comfort zone was very inspiring to all parties.
Sally, they'll give us a badge of honor!

I do very much like the illustrations, particularly the one of the spear. It makes for a great superhero outfit without being costume-like.

Have you considered becoming a Samurai warrior? There have been a few women (besides me, of course) even though they are not widely known.
