Please excuse my tardiness in posting today. I basically have just spent a considerable time stuck in my Awards Dress. This caused a near panic attack as the dress was half on and half off, my arms stuck up in the air, with me thinking "oh god what if the post man comes?!" and since I'm naked under the dress and sweating like, well, like a girl stuck in a goddamn dress, that's a major issue! My hair got tangled up in amongst the strapping and I think I might have let flow a bunch of expletives. So I'm somewhat exhausted! But the good news, I think anyway, is that I have been asked to actually present an award at the Style Awards on Saturday. Eek! Therefore I was making sure the dress wasn't going to malfunction in anyway on the night. Luckily for all concerned I have no plans to take off the dress during the event so this mornings debacle won't be played out in public - I just need to rely on Prince B to get me out of it when the evening is over, otherwise I'm wearing that sucker all the time!
Anyway, still a bit knackered so this post is really just a "Hey, isn't this stuff pretty?" kind of brainless post. I can't really expand on that to be perfectly honest, other than to say that the pretty stuff in question is Peoples Market AW09 collection.
There is nude and black combined, ruffles and lace. If you are the kind of girl who waits til 'party season' to partake of ruffles and such like, I would first say to you "why?!" as there is no good reason to wait til party season to wear ruffles, then I'd say to you "you could do worse than treat yourself to one of these little dresses or blouses".
But it's actually the menswear I am most intrigued with. It's quite 50's with a preppy twist. And more men should indulge in black eyeliner and moody frowning.
Queen Michelle

that third look is sooo good, but for some reason i much prefer the menswear

yee, my gf tried guyliner on me...we agreed it looked a little disturbing and should probably be avoided! Dexter does some cool stuff for peoples market, wouldn't buy it myself cause the quality is shit but you get what you pay for i guess. Presenting an award sounds fun...you should get shit faced on mojitos and moscow mules and deliver a rock-n-roll courtney love style debacle of a presentation!!!

What about moody frowning? You sound like someone who might indulge in moody frowning.
Well I think I'm there as their rock 'n' roll quota so perhaps I should get drunk and take my dress off!!

it's true, I do pride myself on being unapproachable...but that was put to the sword when 5, yes 5! charity people person(s) stopped me to partake in giving money away to whatever foundation they work for. But yeee...I don't need guyliner to make my eyes look amazing, mwuhuhuhuh. Is this awards going to be on TV or available online...? ye, get drunk...you don't have to get naked...just make some absolutely outlandish controversial, political comments about everyone attending! sold!

ha- you must have thought I was one seriously obnoxious bitch with zero dignity! hey!!
Posted by: moi | Wednesday, 28 October 2009 at 15:08
Moi it's not online or anything so no-one will see me possibly making a roaring arse of myself other than those in the room! I'll work on the outlandish comments.
Alex, I have written about Litter before - they are indeed fabulous. What's TZR?

Mmm...guys in eyeliner...
I've scared myself a couple of times being stuck in a dress as well. Hence why I don't partake in doing my own little fashion show when I'm expecting a package in the mail.

Oh God. Now my Queen will forsake me. TZR is The Zoe Report as in Rachel Zoe as in she of the teeny frame, massive sunglasses and A List clients. Signed up to her newsletter to see what it contained...so far about 3 in every 10 have something worthwhile in them.

I nearly wet myself when I saw that big old houndstooth jacket and ruffly/buttony shirt thingy. Oh to be a rich girl. Shame that the awards won't be seen on t'internet (can anyone sneak in a camera and film Queen Michelle for the rest of us? shhh....)

Alexandra you are dead to me...
I joke of course!

Seriously I don't blame you! Am blushing... But am such a communication/web/style junkie that everything gets a trial run. Whether it lasts is another story...
