I wish the British weather would bloody decide what it wants to be: autumn or summer, because at the moment it swings dramatically between both in the space of the same day.
I am really bored of the hot weather now. I want to breathe that lovely crisp air you get at the beginning of autumn. I want to be able to wear manmade fibres without being reduced to a sweaty mess. I also really want to wear tweed again. It's itchy, it's totally old lady but I have a terrible weakness for it. When I got this lovely little tweed dress whilst thifting on Saturday I couldn't wait to combine it with what will end up being my winter uniform of tweed, sequins and PVC/leather with a bit of wool chucked in for good measure.
The dress didn't actually start off as little. It was knee length originally but I wanted it a wee bit shorter so I thought when I was shortening it I'd cleverly follow the lines on the pattern to make sure I cut it nice and straight only to find that my cuts didn't join up, so went round it again and the same thing happened! It was like a cork screw! Eventually I just stopped cutting and ended up with a long tunic rather than a dress. So if you were in any doubt about the difference between DIY and design then surely that's a fine example!
