Man DIY, I mean the Ikea shelve assembling kind that most women can't be arsed with, requires a set of tools, which you are usually not allowed to touch. I have no interest in the actual tools since I can barely hammer a nail in straight, but rather the tool belt often worn for DIY projects. I have always liked those little compartments, the rivets, the bits that appear to have no purpose but probably have some very important purpose that only men know.
Queen Marie functions every day without a handbag, instead using her car to keep all her crap, but I need a handbag. I carry a vast amount of crap around with me on a day to day basis. Even if I narrow it down to the absolute bare minimum I still end up with lipbalm, money, keys, travel pass and inhaler. On a night out I don't take a bag therefore it's down to my Prince to carry my stuff in his pockets. Oops! For this reason I keep looking at the tool belt in our kitchen cupboard and wonder if I could somehow fashion some kind of belt I could use on a night out. One that doesn't look like I'm a jobless carpenter, which could perhaps replace handbag carrying completely.
Seems someone else was pondering the same thing. Blue Moon Designs has designed a lovely range of belt bags which look like refined, lady friendly tool belts.
These belts would make an amazing textural layer over an outfit but would actually serve a purpose, which is always nice.
