I have really been in need of design inspiration lately so I took to searching out some talented artists and designers.
Today I came across the website of artist Luís C. Araújo, The Ninth House. Luís is also the co-dounder of creative portal Creative Stem.
His work is, quite simply, incredible. If I had the patience and talent I would be creating this beautifully crafted kind of work that successfully fuses graphic design and art.
It exudes a darkness like that of Vaughan Oliver with the typographical sensibilities of early David Carson. Both haunting and beautiful.
This is what the 'dirty' Photoshop brushed were made for.
