SwanDiamondRose very kindly sent me a pretty sundress a wee while ago. I admit that I'm not a sundress kinda gal so when I got it I had to ponder for a while as to how I could incorporate it into my own style and make it a bit more 'me'.
I think we all know by now I have a constant need to de-prettify, to destroy any whimsical beauty within a garment and give it a darker, harder twist. Putting on a pair of pretty little sandals with this lovely sundress was never going to happen in a million years.
I certainly didn't want to cut the dress but needed to take the length up a bit and get a bit of volume happening, so for the moment I just shoved a ribbon up the centre. I need to explore a more concise and better way to achieve a decent drape, which may involve stitching, but this was fine for now.

The sword brooch I used to gather up the dress in these photos was a gift from my Prince's mum, The Duchess, and had been in their family for a very long time so it's very precious to me.
