Thanks to the genius plastic bag tip from Nic, I have been getting the Topshop thigh high boots on and off quite easily now. I shall keep doing it until they stretch enough to be able to wear them without the bags on my feet!
The boots aren't especially tight on my legs but I quite like that as the wrinkles add some texture. They are easy to walk in and will definitely 'do a turn', as we say in the Kingdom.
Sunday was spent indoors playing dress up with them but I could only muster the energy to actually photograph 3 outfits. I didn't want to do the whole totally black/goth thing so I tried them with florals, white and a basic t shirt dress - nice and simple to try and take away the whole kinky aspect associated with thigh high boots.

Surprisingly I like them best with the floral dress - it kind of de-sexes them!I tried them with a cream lace dress too but by that point I had turned into a sweaty, red, flustered mess which, as we all know, does not a good photograph make, and I'm simply not ready to share everything with you guys. So my red, puffy face remains undocumented...unless you've snapped me dancing at the Subclub.
Whilst I think it was a ridiculous oversight on the part of Topshop to not put helpful, no necessary, side zips on these boots, and I have no doubt they will create another pair with side zips in due course, I will be keeping these as I'm an impatient sort and I want what I want now.
I just need to have a supply of plastic bags at the ready.

Well worth the hassle of getting them on. My fave is with the green dress. Im almost tempted to indulge in these boots myself, although not sure Im up to the challenge of getting them on!

guess you´re one of the very few to wear something like that and still look anything but kinky. i certainly would give up trying to get them on after the half leg. or become so mad when taking them off that scissors would be worth a thought

I have a pair of Les Tropeziennes thigh high boots and they are zipless just like your Topshop ones! And I have the same problem as well. Huffing and puffing and still not getting either side on after 15 mins. But your feet would slip right in if you wear smooth nylon hose! I am serious!
When I want to show skin above my thighs, I just switch to stockings and pull them up to my knee only. Since the stockings won't hold on their own, they would stay nicely hidden inside the boots. I would imagine plastic bags to be uncomfortable no?
