Reuse, recycle, reclaim. Words we are all probably very accustomed to hearing on a regular basis. I like the idea of taking scrap or found objects and injecting them with new life.
Jewellery designer Yoav Kotik does just that by reusing the metal caps on drinks bottles. Got a favourite beer? Well Kotik is sure to have made it into a ring, a cuff or perhaps a necklace.
He combined them with semi-precious stones to create these quirky, fun pieces. I suppose with patience and a good house party you could collect enough beer caps to create your own version of the necklaces and cuffs.
I think it's the rings that appeal to me the most though. I don't drink but I rather like the Stella Artois or the one with the star at the bottom (no idea what drink this is from).
Next time you get a round in at least you know those discarded caps might end up as jewellery!

These are very clever! But I'm not a big beer drinker, so the appeal is somewhat lost on me.

I'm a teetotaller, too, but still love the look of those spiky necklaces!

Yes, I'm not sure about having an obvious brand on me, but the unidentified red star one is really nice, and it's always great to see waste being reused. It's nice that he combines them with actually valuable semi-precious stones, sort of like giving them equal standing, value-wise.
(Off-track: I'm having a sort of a give away, if anyone wants to join in?

Super cute, I had a friend who used to make pins with them, however she used the insides and put random art and sparkles in them with epoxy (until she became allergic to the chemicals). I made a hat in high school with the caps folded all around the top and the brim, it was my beer drinking hat, still have that thing. It might be time to resurrect it.

This has got to be the best use of cans as jewelry that I have seen.
