Another day another Australian label to talk about.
Right now the lovely British weather is going from being really hot and humid (and I mean so hot that I actually had to grit my teeth and go outside the house with bare legs at the weekend! Oh the horror!), to torrential rain in the space of a day.
But there's always the heat. The bloody stupid heat.
And I know I keep moaning about it, about what to wear during such weather, but since both your Queens are now of an age where it's our God given right to moan like bitches, then moan we will.
I require clothes that are nice and airy and light but cover most of my skin. I don't want to wear the ubiquitious teeny wee denim shorts and white tank top uniform (I know, crazy right?) - for the general public's sake as much as mine. I don't want my limbs exposed to all and sundry. I want to wear several layers if I feel like it without collapsing from heat exhaustion and I don't want to wear a freakin' sundress.
Thankfully the Australians have this sussed. Many Australian designers are accused of not doing anything new or fresh, but that really isn't their main objective. Their main objective is to design clothes that are stylish and practical for the climate. Clothes that are light enough to layer but aren't just entirely basic. This is what I require. Alexi Freeman could provide just that...if it wasn't for the fact the seasons are the opposite way around, which means these won't be available til September. No use to me but also no harm in looking.
I am partial to mesh and silk combined and this colour is utterly perfect for summer.
The mix of sheer fabrics, loose silhouettes, a monochrome colour palette and light cotton jersey are all perfect for hot weather. Not sure about the space boots and greased up skin though, but I like the light sheen on the leggings and the fact they look very light. I am currently trying to source some very light stretch fabric to create some summer leggings for myself (getting back to DIY is top of my list of Good Things About Being Unemployed. It's also the only thing on my list).

Moan away, dammit! I'll take those silver boots, even if they accentuate my big feet.

Summer's the goddam bane of my life, viz-a-viz bare legs...I have alas the legs of a Victorian peasant. I hang onto my opaques for grim death!
That shade of pinky coral is glorious. Very sunsetty. Hurrah for Oz!

The coral is a beautiful color for summer and the mesh and silk are the perfect material.

Oh wow, those boots look like Shuellas. I really love the leggings, and their slouchiness and their transparentness (that reminds me of raincoats and bubbles).
And i might have to paint everything in my house coral now. :/

Once again I discover an Australian designer here, that I hadn't heard of before (despite living in Oz), shame on me! Love the simple & 'easy-to-wear'designs :)

Moan all you like dearie, as soon as our NY summer hits you'll find similar sentiments from me. (NOTHING compares to a NY summer. Okay maybe the tropics.)
I love the coral and grey outfits, very summery and look so comfy, stylish, and best of all won't make you wilt!

I am SO GLAD there are people like you out there who don't got for the denim shorts/white tank combination.
