Faster Pussycat!

It's no secret that I like a good trashy film, whether it's a 70's slasher movie or a 60's 'exploitation' film. On Sunday I decided to watch one of my all time favourite trashy films, Russ Meyer's Faster Pussycat Kill Kill. This is the only Russ Meyer film I like. A story of karate chopping, drag racing, murderous go-go dancers.

The leader is the fabulous Varla, played by the meg-booby Tura Satana. I love how she looks in the film - all huge tits, huge arse with teeny wee waist, clad in black high waisted jeans and leather gloves.

They ride through the desert committing all manner of dastardly deeds. The film, at the time, was considered very risque and rated 'x' but of all Russ Meyers' exploitation films it's the least naughty, infact it's laughable by todays standards, but in 1965 it was virtually porn.

Varla is such a great character though. She is a black belt in karate, she is an expert drag racer and she is ruthless in the extreme. I'm really feeling the need to get some high waisted tight black jeans and pull that belt in real tight. Obviously I am missing one, well a pair, of very important assets of course, but I reckon I shall be chanelling a bit of Varla this week.

There are rumours abound that Quentin Tarantino is to remake the film but I hope he doesn't as it just wouldn't translate and some films should just be left alone in all their cheesy glory.

I think Tarantino borrowed ideas for his two latest films from this one - great reference material.

I can only remember the other Russ Meyer woman, Edy Something. Huge tits,lots of dark hair, terrible actress.

There are whole websites devoted to pointy brassieres! Good luck getting out alive, Queen Michelle. The retro bra and girdle thing had me nuts for a week, at least.

I don't have big enough boobs for pointy bras sadly. All the vintage ones I've looked at require at least several handfuls more than I have!

Actually I would say he already did a remake: Death Proof (Grindhouse)
It's very similar I guess.

Well i loved the Deathproof part of Grindhouse, the Planet Terror...err not so much.
I think Deathproof is a Tarantino film you either love or you hate.
Either way, it's got one of the best lapdance scenes i've ever seen in a movie!

I hate all these remakes. It truly disturbs me that there are all these talented screenwriters with brilliantly original ideas that are being pushed to the wayside because a studio head figures they'll make more cash with a cheap, cheesy remake.

Yes, I'm over both re-makes AND Tarantino (shoulda quit after "Reservoir Dogs", my friend) so I vote NO on re-doing "Faster, Pussycat." Also, the re-make would be filled with silicone. Is it just me, or is it really refreshing to see actual real-life breasts on those women? At the risk of sounding creepy, they just look so much more beautiful to me...

Oh hell yeah big real boobs are a million times better than fakes. Tura's are great! I've never wanted big boobs but I've always thought hers would be worth having!
