Get Yer Motor Running

That Hells Angel stalwart; the biker waistcoat, has made it's way into my wardrobe. It was inevitable really. I had one when I was 13 so there is no reason why I wouldn't have one again at 35. Last time it was genuine leather, this time it's a cheap PVC biker jacket from Primark which I have hacked the sleeves off.

It'll actually be very useful for toughening up any overly girly outfits, much like the traditional biker jacket does. And if I get mistaken for a Hells Angel, albeit a super puny one, then at least no-one will mess with me!  It's the alteration that keeps on giving!

Oh, and please click on any photos we include in any of our posts to bring up a bigger pop up, as Typepad makes them a bit blurry when they are this size of thumbnail.

hmm I should try that ...then it would solve all my probs of trying to find the perfect leather vest..which seems impossible right about now! Great look

heehee, the biker vest might toughen your outfit up, but you look almost too cute with that smile!

i wish we had primark in denmark, i've had the exact same idea for a while now, but i can't find a decent leather jacket that i'd want to cut up, or at least i haven't found a reasonably prized one yet... did find some leather shorts though! talk about bad hells angels vibes ... but i like em :)

anyway, LOVE your blog<3

I think thats the first time I have seen you smile! lol Nice outfit! xx

I love it too that you smile a lot more lately! And the hacked jacket looks amazing! Great you found a cheap faux version though. I could never bring myself to cut up a real leather jacket... Except if I was going to use the sleeves for some other DIY. But I suppose you've already thought that!

Everyone's going to say it, so I thought I'd get in early - loving the smile!

The biker jacket is such a good idea - I might pop to my local vintage shop and grab myself one on the cheap, and hack off the sleeves. Great look once more. Cx

I like the idea of a sleeveless biker jacket, it looks great on you, also I love the leggings

Great combo with the leggings and pretty smile!

A leather jacket is the next thing on my wishlist; I had accepted that I could not afford one but your Primark looks super with butchered arms! Interesting...

just discovered your blog... and absolutely adore it!

cool lace tights!!

I have been reading your blog for a long time but never commented before, however I can't not comment on this - I can't believe you're 35! You look absolutely fantastic for your age! You should tell us what beauty products you use as well :-)

Great vest! Especially teamed with that gorgeous blouse! I need more 'tough' items in my wardrobe to wear with girly pieces, or they end up not getting worn...

I can't remember the last time I saw you smile, Queen Michelle. You look great.

I love that DIY. You gave that jacket a new lease on life.

My motor is running!

Very clever! I like it. Those lace leggings are fabulous!
