Very Valerie
When I saw the faux leather jacket and other pieces by Valerie Dumaine in Coco Career I was really intrigued as to what else she has done. So I checked out her site and was really pleased to see pretty, unpretentious, wearable items which could be worn with other equally simple pieces or completely juxtaposed with leather, lace or unusual shapes.
Valerie is a Montreal based designer although she has spent time in London and Berlin, returning to Montreal to launch her line in Spring 2004.
The clothes have a slightly retro feel to them yet are undeniably elegant. I am completely coveting the purple coat. Just the thing to keep me snuggly in winter.
The collection is made in Canada and available across Canada and few stores in USA as well as Coco Career in the UK who will be getting more pieces in in the future.

Oh! Valerie is such a wonderful person as well, a really sweet girl! We've been carrying her line in our store here in Mtl since we opened and she is so wonderful to work with... Yay Valerie!

I'd love that gray jersey blouson top. Among other things.

ugh. i was intrigued by the leather jacket lines, delighted to find it on humclothing.com and then crushed when finding out its Faux Leather! what a disappointment :( - who wants to wear pleather for $200? plus, my winter blues would grow to literal blues if i were to dawn this great looking jacket. crushing.

what a nice surprise to see mention of Valerie Dumaine on your blog! Valerie is one of my favourite Canadian designers. You can purchase her full collection (and select items from past collections) on her store - http://www.shopvaleriedumaine.com
