We received a lovely email from the charming Miss James, the owner and stylist of Bleubird Vintage asking us to drop by for a visit...

She has built bleubird vintage from the ground up with her own two hands. with a background in fashion design and an affinity for vintage style, bleubird was the perfect way for her to express herself while staying true to her love for the industry. she's a single mommy of two beautiful kiddos, stays up way too late and has a to die for collection of vinyl. she loves old movies, raspberry lollipops and all things vintage. Founded in 2005, the site is updated weekly with over 50 vintage items for you to browse through. specializing in the 60's, 70's and 80'...
Here are a few of my favourites
The Mollie Frock $58
(could this little frock be any sweeter?)
The Blue Bubble Dress $78
(you couldn't feel blue in this cutie)
The 70's Heart Cape $68
(love, love, loving this)
This little bleubird is sure to spread happiness all around...

Why is this so SO similar (like almost identical) to Shop Nasty Gal? Does anyone know...?

Thanks Michelle for spreading the word about online vintage! We're still a small community, but more and more shops are popping up each week.
Rebecca: A lot of the verbiage does sound similar to ours, but we're in no way affiliated. Glad to be an inspiration, I guess...

I think Nasty Gal is jealous and posted that comment haha!
Bleu Bird: you and your models rock ten times more. At least you don't sell just used clothing that looks good like NG. You actually have some true vintage there. congrats!

Bleubird has been around for pretty long. Before she used models she used to model them herself, and her (now ex-)husband used to take the pictures. I check this site regularly, even though I don't buy anything, because it's just all so beautiful.

i prefer nasty gal. the site and model look more for young teens and childish. some good finds though.

I prefer Bleubird hands down. I have chatted with them both at different times as I am in the same business. Bleubird has been around for years, finds amazing vintage and is a sweetheart where as Nasty Gal, who came on the scene years after Bleubird, thinks that she's better than everyone, thinks that everyone wants to be like her and sells items that aren't vintage and calls them vintage. I also think she wrote the rude comment above, it's very much something she would do.
