How great was your eight?
So yesterday was the 8th day, of the 8th month in the 8th year, supposedly one of the most auspicious days of the year.
Auspicious my arse!
I don't know how the Olympics fared but Queen Michelle and I had a dog of a day.
QM suffered the loss of her favourite shoes and I had the most stressful day at work that I can remember for a long long time. To try and lift our spirits we took a jaunt to an old stomping ground - Braehead. Oh Dear God, the place has gone down the tubes and the shops were filled to the brim with tat! We left without buying a single thing.
Most upsetting of all was Marks and Spencers. They have rearranged it all and it felt like a claustrophbic jumble sale. When you can't seek sanctuary in M&S, there is no hope in the world...
What about you! How great was your eight?
Queen Marie

Hi!
Mine was pretty terrible...Had to work my 'other' (not as fun) job all day, wore uncomfortable shoes, realised I left the freezer slightly open and ruined all my food and THEN spilt orange lolly all over my powerbook that is already on the blink.
Better hopes for today?

My eight was just lovely. Sonic Youth and Sigür Rós at the Way Out West festival here in Gothenburg - is there a better way to spend a summers night?
Thank you for your stylish, intelligent and beautiful blog!

Queen Marie!I'm so glad you posted this!I thought I was alone in being unlucky on the 8th!It was posssibly the worst day of my life, or at least a contender. I was informed yesterday that I'm being made redundant simply a matter of days before I would qualify for a large lump sum of redundancy money! So for probably the first time in my life I feel so financially uncertain! On my way home I was driving thinking about how much it sucks not having a boyfriend I can phone up and moan about the sorry state of my life and the absolute fuckers who I previously worked for, when my car exploded. Or at least thats what it felt like instead I realised I was participating in a crash. The car behind had crashed in to my beautiful little car, which is now mangled to bits and I'm sure she'll never fully recover. I spent the next 6 hours in A&E next to a man who seemed surprisingly upbeat for someone who had copious amounts of blood poring out of his eye and another who lovingly reffered to me as Hen as he stared at my chest and played with infected boil on his stomach. I endured all this to then be given paracemtomol for the pain and a ridiculous looking neck brace that won't go with any of my outfits. The number 8 will forever be banished from mylife as it's plain trouble! Although there is comfort in knowing I wasn't alone in my unlucky bubble! xxx

My day 8 was pretty awful. Found out my boyfriend has been cheating on me. Not so great!

DANG.
I'm very sorry to hear you had a hard day at work, and that Queen Michelle lost her shoes!
I hope things get better.
