They are trousers too!
Unfortunate circumstances of late has meant I have had to ban any significant shopping from my life. Naturally, this is like someone denying me oxygen! To appease myself I have been DIYing like a lady possessed (you might have noticed that!).
Re-inventing your clothes is very rewarding at it happens, and I have re-discovered so many great things that have DIY potential.
Whilst perusing Topshop recently I saw some great tapered trousers, aka carrot trousers. My wee heart has been lusting after this shape for a good year or so, after I saw a pair by Burfitt. Grudgingly I had to pass on the Topshop ones, but instead decided I'd take matters into my own hands and alter one of my many pairs of charity shop bought mens trews into the aforementioned 'carrot' shape.
This was me yesterday wearing the newly altered pants. Off to meet my dear friend Joyce with my vintage clutch, All Saints leather jacket, Ann D vest, Miu Miu sunglasses and Ravel shoes.
The alteration is unbelievably easy. Anyone can do it.
The black represents the original shape and the dotted red line where you sew to get the new desired shape. I wanted mine ankle grazing so lobbed off a few inches from the bottom too. Easy!
