Owning parachute pants is something you shouldn't really be proud of but when the pants in question are actually huge, soft as silk, dusky pink vintage trousers, owning them doesn't seem like a bad thing after all!
These came in the same package as my purple fringed dress, and I wasn't sure what to expect when Dree described them to me but I was pleasantly surprised, especially by the gorgeous colour.
DIY ruffled blouse; TS ankle boots; belt a gift from Queen Marie / Ann Demeulemeester vest; Richard Nichol for Topshop tuxedo jacket; vintage black belt; TS ankle boots
Vintage black ruffled shirt; random belt; All Saints shoes / TS Unique shoes; vintage Isabel de Pedro waistcoat; Topshop belt; grey vest
I absolutely love this colour combined with black so I couldn't help myself bring out lots of it. These trousers are probably going to be way too exaggerated for some, and that's precisely why I love them! Plus, they are a nice wee nod to the wonderful YSL A/W08 tapered leg trousers.

I love these posts!
Those parts are fantastically gorgeous, and I love them paired with the grey in the first picture. Creates a romantic notion.
That said, I love the second outfit. It kind of has a nod to "Annie Hall" in it.

The colour is superb, and the shape really suits you. They look perfect for summer, too. Beautiful!

Wow - they're really something else! They almost look like an extravagant skirt due to the draping on the side... I'd honestly have to look twice if I saw you on the street with them on.
I like the third outfit (bottom left) most as it is more of an everyday look being less theatrical than the other outfits. The last outfit with the beads is quite playful.

This is amazing. Can you tell me where did you get those ankle boots? TS doesn't ring a bell, I thought it was Topshop, but I couldn't find it there.
Posted by: LADIVASOSA | Monday, 16 June 2008 at 19:02
TS is Topshop - sorry, very inconsistent with my naming!
Posted by: Queen Michelle | Monday, 16 June 2008 at 19:11
Oh - these are gorgeous! The colour is too.

They look wonderful, really extravagant and billowy- 'parachute pants' is just the right name for them! And the draping makes them even more spectacular..

These are perfect on you! The shoes are all amazing too.

those are the most amazing pants ever.

Love them! After years of slim-through-the hips-and-thighs boot cut pants, and then slim-all-over skinnies, wearing the occasional 80's throwback sillouette of billowing fullness at the thighs looks - and feels - refreshing! Cuffing the tapered ankle and wearing them with stompy heels, as you have done, makes them look fresh and modern. My sister-in-law just gave me a pair of jade green silk Forenza pants (tags still on - she bought two outfits to wear to a high schol art show, and wore the other)that look very similar, minus the pocket wings, to yours, and I can't wait to wear them.

I absolutely love the TS shoes, are these new?
Posted by: Vanessa | Tuesday, 17 June 2008 at 03:07
Queen Michelle, the pants look amazing on you, on me they'd be truly awful and would possibly be sent to the tower. Still loving the shower flower blouse in the 1st photo.

The pants look awesome and your DIY blouse goes so well with them - I knew as soon as I saw those topshop ankle boots in new arrivals that you'd get them :)

Those parachute pants are simply amazing! I have wanted some like that for aggggeeees, but I'm too lazy to make them for myself. Where can I get myself a pair? Cx

are those topshop shoes new? they are fab! love the dusky shade of the trousers, what are they made of?
Posted by: caofh | Wednesday, 18 June 2008 at 14:38
Topshop shoes are a few weeks old, so newish. I'm not 100% sure what the trousers are actually made of. They feel like silk but they're not. But they are very light.
