Benefits Of Fringe

For some time now, I have been lusting after a black fringed skirt. It has led me to buying lots of fringing to sew onto anything that isn't fast enough to escape me and my needle!

Seeing an Ann D black fringed skirt in an editorial in 10 has made it even worse, especially since I can't find one for love nor money. However in order to appease myself I made use of some black fringing I had by turning it into a necklace.

Simple, cheap and will hopefully satisfy my fringe needs until such time as I come across the perfect fringed skirt.

hmm, could you not take a plain black skirt and sew lines of fringe on it? or ask somebody handy with a sewing machine to do it for you? (i'd be willing, except that i'm doing exams right now, until may 22nd :) )

If you paste that on your chin, you can join ZZ Top!

is this the first blogged photo with the new camera???

Nah, this is taken with the Prince's phone.
WendyB, I could totally do a ZZ Top!!

That is genius. I might have to nick that idea...

OH NO, two minutes ago I just posted a picture of a fringed skirt at shopbop, in order to mock it!

Shit! Please forgive me, your Magesty. And it comes in black.

xxoo

This necklace is great, hopefully it will satisfy you a while.

oh yes... this is a great idea! how did you find such a long fringe? do they carry them at any ol' haberdashery shoppe?

it does remind me a bit of the reality studio headband too! which is equally as sweet.

This styling is simple and chic. I think, it's also an idea for DIY. Just perfect.

how about an original flapper dress, michelle? please take a lot at this one i found on ebay: #330234938952
:-)

What a great idea, simple and effective.

Sister Wolf, you are forgiven my child.
It is my job to give a Royal home to all the ugly clothes out there, and I totally would have given that skirt in navy a home too, had it not been for the silly price they want for it. $250? they're 'avin' a laugh aren't they?!
Lady Coveted, I did indeed get it from a haberdashers but most only carry the shorter version, I had to get this from a special one.
Stella-Mayfair, thanks for the tip - I have added it to my Watch List on eBay xx

Oooh lovely! Where did you find that extra long fringe? -please divulge! I have been looking for some longer lengths for a DIY project of my own. The longest I've found was 6".

It's from VV Roleaux Natmonster

Ah VVR, of course - thank you!

Seriously inspired, I think you might be making me change my attitude to fringe!

Looks good! An inspiration to make a fringed beaded necklace (I make jewelry). I just have to find the patience (not exactly my forte) for lots of beading with a very small beads...

I just bought the most gorgeous champagne coloured fringe and am just dying to get going on a project with it. This is a great inspiration!

I really like that. . .you're so crafty!

I love fringe!!! This is a great idea! So simple yet effective.

PS. I sort of think you are AMAZING. Thanks for linking.

It looks cute.

Well done, this is pretty awesome. Mmmm fringey skirt. I would totally wear that gold fringer that Sisterwolf posted, well if it was free that is.
