I posted recently about the marvelous Bebaroque's stunning fringed tights. Susie Bubble was so taken with them she bought the bright pink pair. I personally went for the black, however when they arrived, as pretty as they were, I felt the fringe didn't stand out enough against the black of the tights, hence the reason I didn't post about them - very hard to photograph unfortunately. I didn't want them in the pink either though. Ideally I would have black fringe on navy tights, or grey, teal, forest green, some kind of darkish 'off' colour. Perhaps Bebaroque will create them in other colours at some point.
However, lovely girls that they are, they added a wee surprise in with my tights - a pair of sheer, seamed hold-ups with a black paisley-esque print on. I knew I couldn't wear them on their own since they wouldn't actually stay up without the aid of a suspender belt (most of my clothes don't lend themselves to having that kind of contraption worn under them), so instead I have taken to wearing them like socks and layering them over other tights. And they stay up beautifully.
Being almost transparent meant they were ideal for layering over another pattern, so I tried them over my Celeste Stein floral tights. I loved this look because it reminded me of test printing plates - when printers run plates for printing they'll do a test print on some spare paper first, and they often use the same piece of paper each time so you get all these different images over-printed on top of each other. Tragically, it reminded me of that. It's some kind of beautiful chaos. I now would like transparent tights with words all over them as the effect would be even more graphic and print like.
They look great over a plain, bright colour, in this case pink
And over neutral colours like pale grey
I shall of course be trying them over pretty much every colour of tights I own. And until such times as the girls make the fringed ones in other colours I may even attempt a temporary DIY version, perhaps using a different colour of fringing. Although looking at them it would be surprisingly labour intensive. I can but try.

There really should be more sheer printed tights in general for layering!

I've always been a fan of wearing 2 pairs of tights myself, though sadly just 2 pairs of 60 deniers to beef up the coverage - not quite as exciting as what you've done here. I love the optical illusion effect of the 1st pic.

What a clever idea, I'm loving the effects that you have created.

I love layering tights! You get so much more out of them that way. Also, if you want to wear the stockings on their own you can tie them at the top with pretty ribbon. It looks very cute.

Did you keep the black tights?
Those hold-ups are stunning, especially over the floral tights.

Yeah I kept the black ones. Haven't worn them though.

Those are amazing. I would totally break my "no buy" rule for those. I'm on a fashion diet right now. Until my closet slims down, I can't buy anything. But, those don't look like they take up very much space do they? :)

Oh Grace, these are so tiny you wouldn't even know they were there. Positively teeny!
