Hippy Hippy Shake

Another Saturday thrifting/secondhand shopping haul. The shopping fairy was pretty generous to me it has to be said because for £45 I scooped a lovely green dress, an Isabel de Pedro waistcoat, which looks fantastic on, some still-in-the-packet printed tights, a lace trimmed satin slip and...a long leather Armani coat. Yes, you read that right. A leather Armani coat. It's made of the most gorgeous, chamois-like, buttery soft leather I have ever felt. When I first saw it I wasn't sure I'd really get wear out of it, but when I tried it on it just came alive and I had to have it.

It was also very lucky that the dress, the slip, the tights and the coat happen to make a vaguely hippy/70's vibe when worn together. I just added a hat and some high heeled oxfords for something a wee bit Ally McGraw.

And it's all topped off with a lovely big fat cold sore which also appeared on Saturday. Nice.

Wow! I love reading about fantastic thrifting finds like this! Since there's nary a nonoverpriced secondhand store that isn't too picked over or overpriced near me, experiencing it vicariously is the next best thing. Love how richly emerald of dress, everything about the waistcoat, and of course what a catch the Armani jacket is :)

The neon coloured bears on those tights make them just about the best thing ever. Makes me sigh away for my old ribbon patterned tights from back in the day when my mother used to dress me.

You certainly have an eye for things!

i love those brown brogues, where did you get them from?! x

Wow, I really wasn't convinced about the jacket or the dress, but they look great in your outfit. The hat is a really nice masculine touch.

What a fabulous collection. That mouse print is a lovely piece of quirky cool.
Thanks so much for the link too. :)

How do you do it!?

Gorgeous! x

I'm gasping at the shoes! You have the loveliest shoes, Queen Michelle! I'm filled with lust/envy!

Hi fab haul!
Re. the cold sore evil - have you tried those Compeed patches? Little circular plaster type things that you stick over the offender. If you persevere with them they get rid of cold sore and give a bit of camouflage too.

you should be the luckiest girl in the world! yargh i want that green dress!

Wow, a truly fantastic ensemble.

geesh..the fairy was most definitely with you that day..killer finds, killer piecing 'em all together!

I love it when that happens, you get home and realize you have just bought an entire outfit. Maybe it's the subconscious stylist in you ;)

gorgeous! that is serendipitous if ever i saw it.

what lovely finds! i'm in disbelief you found an armani jacket like that... and for that amount... amazing...

I like the shoes but ugh on the rest. Puts me in mind of 'Little House On the Prarie' on cattle round-up day. You've posted so many other outfits that to me look a zillion times more stylish. But if you love it, rock on!!

that waistcoat is simply gorgeous!

What an amazing haul!

Brillo finds. I looooooooove the coat!

I love that green dress!

Oh my! You must get people asking this all the time, but WHERE OH WHERE in Glasgow do you do your thrifting?!

wow. it looks pretty easy, but so fantastic.

Each item is absolutely fantastic. The leather jacket makes me speechless.

woah, lucky ducky, they're awesome! i like the photos of you wearing the stuff, too.

and your oxfords are so perfect! where'd you get them? (not that i'd be able to buy the same ones, but still.:D)

The oxfords were from Carvela at Kurt Geiger, last year I think.

That jewel-toned green is to die for!!! Plus, it looks so great with the netural coat.
