Frisky For Finsk
Hurrah for Topshop! Why? Because they have collaborated with Finnish Julia Lundsten to bring Finsk for Topshop. Her architectural shoes have won her the Manolo Blahnik Award for two consecutive years and rightly so. Her designs are quirky and unusual. I love how she incorporates birch wood from her native country into her designs. They are so clean and simple, yet they somehow look like little bits of furniture for the feet!

Great design..

The grey heels on their site are georgous, but ouch! How much?! Topshop or net-a-porter?

I live her shoes! (I live in Finland..) Anyway I've been reading your blog for a while, it's one of my favorites!

The green and tan pairs have a really terrific late-60s design allusion in the heel. The heels look like the legs of Swedish coffee tables!
I'm going to seriously contemplate that tan pair, even in its pictorial sedateness.

Love the tan pair.

I have loved Finsk for ages, purely on pictures - they're not avalable anywhere near me, and rather luckily for the purse, seem to start at a size 36 so I'm right out anyway! I love your style generally, but your shoe picks make me swoon.

I am a proud owner of 2 pairs of FINSKs and I absolutely love them.
I first saw them on a trip to Tokyo and I'm so glad to find out that they will be available in Topshop again.
With all the hype about FINSK at the moment, I think I must rush into Topshop to get myself a pair before they sell out! ;)
I've fallen in love with the green pair!
Does anyone know if they are available anywhere besides Topshop?

I've been following Julia's career for a while - I think she's an amazing designer!
I don't think that the thing for Topshop is a collaboration actually, I think that Topshop has just bought in her main range.
I bought FINSK ankle boots from Topshop last season and yes, coming in at £270 they were not cheap but I have got so much wear out of them and getting all the amazing comments from other women-and men too believe it or not! it's like putting money in the bank...
Well, that is how I justify it to myself at least ...

Hi Queen Michelle.
Thanks so much for the tip. I just took a look and the boots there look amazing!
Wow. Now, shall I go for white or black?...
And if I buy them, how do I finance my green SS pair? Hehee!

Do you ever get the feeling you'll die if you can't own it? I have that feeling right now.

Damn the weakness of the Canadian dollar! I love the low heel ones, they would be so perfect for toughening up some sundresses. But alas, they would be over $300 Canadian, too much for me... why can't I cobble shoes as well as sew?!

This makes me wish more good European shoes were available here. Boy, do I love those.

Wow- these shoes look great. So different to anything else I've seen in the shops! Thanks for writing about them.
I actually think that they are not that expensive for such amazing designs- many of the other young designer's shoes sell for a lot more so I would think that it's best to bag yourself a pair of FINSKs now. :)

Ibought of pair of Finsh ankle boots from Top Shop and they are the most beautiful and well designed shoes ever! Mine have a big heel but I can practically run around in them for an entire day and everyone who sees them agrees that they are to die for!

i love shoes, and i have a lot of them. but once a year i tend to look for "the shoe" the one that would set me apart from what every one else is wearing. something that works as a fashion statment, and i have just bought a pair of ankle boots from FINSK, which are beatufully crafted! i am so happy...

I was in Topshop today with the intention to buy myself a pair and the ones I wanted had already sold out in my size. I'm GUTTED!
Any idea where else I can buy them in London?

Want. Need. Love those shoes. I need a pair of summer sandals but they are pricey. . .
Posted by: Aja | Wednesday, 27 February 2008 at 22:05
Aja, treat yourself! :)
I bought a pair of flat sandals from FINSK last summer and I wore them so much - I can't wait for the weather to pick up a bit so I can get them out again! By fat the best shoes I've bought.
And the amount of compliments I got was crazy - they must really stand out in the crowd...
