I know I have lost my fashion mojo for 2 reasons:
- Nothing in wardrobe excites me any more. Even the old faithfuls that I pull out when I can't be arsed but I can rely on to make me feel really pulled together, are not doing their job anymore.
- I find myself having to think real hard about what to wear. Even going as far as to plan it the night before in an attempt to make sure I feel like me. I never plan my outfits - I wear what subconsciously calls out to me. Well, there is no voice calling!
I think that's why very few designers showing at any of the fashions weeks has excited me. God knows everyone seems to think the London Fashion Week was the best one yet, especially since a few big names had "come home". I wasn't excited by that much at all, so either I'm right and everyone else is wrong (it has been known), or I'm completely missing something...or my mojo has left me for someone else and I just can't see what everyone else is seeing.
Fashion for me, is all about feeling a vibe or a look or an image. I am wanting to do my interpretation of the skinhead look in the last post, but when it actually comes to mustering the energy to actually go forth and shop, well, I just can't!
On the plus side, losing one's fashion mojo is good for the bank balance and perhaps it's the natural order of things for a fashion lover - if we didn't lose the desire every once in a while I reckon we'd all be completely bankrupt!

Yeah, and maybe it's best to go over it and take some time- I often find certain collections have to grow on you before you can get to liking things about them.
Cheer up, Queen M- you have nearly a year till this lot hit the stores, and your fashion Mojo will return long before that! Read a book, watch a movie, even go for a walk somewhere- your mojo will come back all on its own (and if it stays gone for a while, then look on the bright side- your bank balance will be very happy to meet it when it comes back) and you won't have to take mad time trips to get it back like Austin Powers or something.

I think your mojo is probably feeling a little stifled by other things happening in your life, it needs time to rest. Don't worry it will wake up - yours is a force to be reckoned with!

Have you been ill recently? Stress, illness and hangovers (all personally experienced by myself) are killers in fashion mojo. Sometimes it's what you need to start looking at what you have with a fresh look.
In a much less post-related, shameless self-promotion sort of way, I was wondering if you could perhaps link my blog? I only started it recently, and I'm still looking at ways to improve! Link is above (and it's called The View From Here). xx

You should create a passive aggressive state for your mind. For that you create the unexpected to recieve the desired reaction from your psyche. Start dressing really classic stuff; that is if you have any. If not, borrow. I call this attire "bank attire", you know, the kind of boring stuff people in finance wear. If I'm right, you should heal in a day or 2, since your inner fashion persona will not be able to handle the situation and burst out with really good stuff again! Well, I don't want to cause further depression, but if you asked whether this has been tested, I wouldn't be able to give you a satisfying answer; that is because it never happened to me. And...no, it doesn't happen to everybody. Hahahaha, I'm just evil..kidding, sorry. Hope it works though.

Don't worry! It's this seasonal transition thing. I always hate every article of clothing I own as soon as it starts getting cold and wet outside and I go through the same thing all over again late spring!!

Ooh, I think Zeynerka may be onto something...but equally, it could be this transitional limbo-like changing of the seasons. I think you'll find it will be back shortly...

Your mojo has simply got to be in there somewhere!
In searching for my mojo, I have looked to past garments that made me feel great. Of course, some of those things no longer suit my figure as it is today, but in some cases, memories of colour, cut, or texture have been enough to inspire me.
Another idea is to try on something you would normally leave hanging on the rack. My darling best friend Christine gave me a rule that I now follow like scripture - never dismiss a garment until you have actually tried it on. I have had some very pleasant fashion surprises as a result of that rule.
So follow the Rule of Christine, and you never know what you may find. That mojo is still there, waiting for you to claim it.
