The backbone of any wardrobe...

is accessories.
While some like glasses and bags are a constant, others drift in and out of fashion and favour.
Belts are big this season.
Missoni have produced this one which is big in size and gigantic in price -£695 if you please from net-a-porter

For some reason ( my royal brain works in mysterious ways, to be sure) every time I see this belt , it makes me think of either 'The Man in the Iron Mask' or the work 'Quantum Cloud' by the artist Anthony Gormley.

I suppose you could always try and justify the £695 by saying it was "just like wearing a piece of modern art"

I can DEFINITELY see the resemblence. It's a beautiful belt, but the price isn't so beautiful...!

that belt is gorgeous.
absolutely.
if it were cheaper (and by cheaper i mean less £683), i would love it.
it's so unexpected, but i'd probably wear it multiple times.

xx,
jessica.

I wonder how easy it would be to create something like that at home... i might have to get some of my art major friends to try, bc that would be an amazing piece to have!

I'll have to look up how that looks with a dress

Great comparison to Quantum Cloud!

what the hell? that is perhaps the ugliest thing well, just about ever.

ooh i love your comparison... it's just great.

A great assesoire! It special and it could be so stylish with the wright clothes! I like it but the price is a bit tooo much =/.

Nice blog =D!

Maybe it would look fetching on another Gormley work - the pixelated 3D version of himself?

Good post. It does have something of the art installation about it. It also reminds me a bit of a monochrome 3D Mondrian picture: http://content.answers.com/main/content/wp/en/thumb/8/83/300px-Mondrian_CompRYB.jpg and yeah it does look like it could be some sort of ultra trendy medieval chain mail. Great looking belt but it kind of looks like it should belong on a pedestal, don't you think?
