Feathered Friend

I posted about my desire for a dress which was vaguely nun like and fell in love with the black and white Charles Anastase dress. It was just beyond beautiful and at over £600 also beyond what I'd pay for it.

Roll on a few months later and high street shop Warehouse bring out a lovely little bubble hemmed Anastase-esque dress complete with white peter pan collar. A much more manageable £40 to boot. I might even add some white buttons.

I was delighted with the dress when it arrived and actually felt it had to remain demure (as opposed to me 'de-prettifying it), so I teamed it with some over knee socks, big glasses and brogues. But for some bizarre reason, the dress is calling out to me to be worn with a feather head piece of some description.

These Nina Ricci ones would do the job perfectly. The downside is they do look slightly like a pigeon had died on your head, so perhaps a feathered fascinator would be a better option.

These fascinators from Ribbons and Pearls are perfect. Obviously intended for weddings but I they would work beautifully out-with their intended confines.

I prefer the looser feather arrangements rather than the neat, prim, fascinators... but could you DIY a version?

The Nina Ricci ones are very Swan Lake!

Mmm, tres chic. Loving Peter pan collars at the mo. The Charles Anastase show is the only one I'm really excied about for September. Fingers crossed I can blag my way in!

wow i should look in warehouse more often!

I hope that dress is still around by January sale time, although it's so cute I am tempted now...

i like how the feathers are shaped to the shape of the head
i love the black and white one

Love the dress, is it in store now? I never bought nothing at Warehouse, but i guess now I have to. It's even more beautiful than the "original" one. Very good taste!

I never go into Warehouse at all, and I only saw this because there was a Warehouse promotional pull-out in Elle or something. Because I've been house bound I bought it online but it may very well be instore now.
Rollergirl, I'll be so envious is get to see the Anastase show in September - I think it'll be amazing. Good luck with the blag my girl!

The dress is a little Wednesday Addams too. In a really excellent way. I love that whole black & white babydoll, rounded collar thing.
