Queen Marie and I have an expression we use, inherited from her Gran, and it's "don't look at the big jumpers". This expression is mostly used during traditional gift giving times, as it's said when someone, usually me, is talking about a trend or a garment and it's just a matter of time before the item being talked about is purchased. "Don't look at the big jumpers" is then said if it turns out that said item has already been bought for the person as a gift, so it basically means "don't buy it as I have bought it or something similar for you already".
We had a "don't look at the big jumpers" moment when I posted my jodhpurs purchase (yet to arrive). It turned out Queen Marie had managed to score the most AMAZING pair by Belstaff and had planned on giving me them for my christmas - until she stopped and thought about it. She realised that my fashion turnaround is so quick that chances are I'd have bought/made several pairs of jodhpurs by then and will be well and truly over the whole look come christmas. And to be honest - she's right! So she decided she'd give me them now. Quite frankly I'm sooo glad she did. I've been pretty much under house arrest on account of the dog, as she's a spoiled little madam and requires attention 24/7. My life is now about doing everything around her toilet habits. And forget about one of us leaving the house - she just goes crazy! So the upshot is I haven't been able to go out except to go to the park or to the supermarket - obviously with dog in tow. And this is my summer holiday! You know it's bad when you have to shop at Warehouse online!
Anyway, I digress. The point is my doggy sentence was temporarily broken when Queen Marie made a royal visit baring the early christmas pressie yesterday. This cheered me no end, especially as they are PERFECT! I just love them. The paper bag waist is also an added bonus and the colour is bang on.
Thank you Queen Marie - these ROCK!!!
Queen Michelle

The shape of these Belstaff ones are even more exaggerated and cooler than the Balenciaga ones...
Oh.. now I get it.. I DO have trousers like these... I was baffled for a while as to the exact definition of jodphurs as I was thinking of tight riding things. The style and shape of your Belstaff ones was huge in Japan and HK a few years ago... and I have pairs from local shops there as well as some Michiko Koshino ones....
Ah...all is clear...

When my dog was a needy baby I bought him a toy that holds a biscuit inside and theres a tricky way you have to get it out. I'd give that to him before I left and he'd be so fixated on trying to get that biscuit that all of my shoes would be in one piece when I returned. Good luck with training your baby. Dogs are wonderful companians.

Hey girlies, thanks for the comments! xx
PrettyInBlack: Amber is nearly 2 and let me tell you she is SOOO hard to make do anything she doesn't want to. I'm packing her off back to my mum's today to give ME a break!
Lady Coveted: It's a harness top with strappy bits bought from one those really embarrassing goth/cyber type shops.

Fab post. Like the observation about your 'fashion turnaround'...so true! Agree with Lauren, that red jacket in the link would be gorgeous - red and beige are a top colour combination!
