Brogue Lesson

You'll all be sick of the sight of me on this blog soon, but I was asked by a reader to do a "mini photo-shoot" of how I wear my recently bought high heeled brogues, as she has the same ones and just always ends up wearing them with trousers.

My shoe choice usually goes a bit like this:
"Oh new shoes. These are the best shoes EVER and I'm going to wear them forever!".

Then one of these things will happen:
Either I'll wear them for 2 weeks solidly until I get bored with them (whichever comes first) or until I get a new pair of shoes and proclaim them as "The best shoes I've ever owned!".

So these are the requested images. These outfits are what I wore Monday-Friday last week complete with the brogues.

Brogue3_2What we have here is:
Monday:
Cord mariners hat
My Prince's trousers from the 80's of which I rolled the hems up
Waistcoat and tie print t-shirt
Tuxedo jacket

Tuesday:
Plain white t-shirt from Mango
Future Classics skirt
Grey tights

Wednesday:
Future Classics dress
Very old Whistles fringed scarf halter top
Turquoise tights

Thursday:
Christian Joy dress
Red tights

Friday:
Therapy plaid dress
Topshop Boutique white dress which I made into a shirt
Mustard tights
Striped socks

There you have it - a Monday to Friday selection of the clothes I wore with my beloved brogues.

I'm so glad I sent back the Marni's and got these instead as they are much more useful since it's been raining pretty much constantly, so these shoes have stood up to the rainy abuse!

wow, be my friend. i would love to walk next to you

I´m not sick! your photos are the main reason why I love to come here! I really like how you put your clothes together.

I have something to ask you Q michelle, you have lots of high heeled shoes, have you ever fallen? The thing is that whenever I wear heeled shoes for the first time, I find it hard to walk normally, specially with rain, have you been in this situation too?

Luckily I have never fallen. BUT this is because I don't ever wear stiletto's, well not high ones anyway. It's quite hard to fall off thick heels or wedges, so I think that's the key to staying upright! Plus, I've been wearing high heels of some description since I was a little girl (I always INSISTED my school shoes had a heel), so I'm actually quite practiced at walking in them.

cute outfits!

is your boyfriend a boxer/Dj?
cause i think i have met you or someone identicle who works at a magazign

My boyfriend is a DJ but definitely not a boxer (although he has delivered a few punches in his time!!!). I work for a graphic design agency but not a magazine (although one of our clients is a magazine).

i know what you mean. i have a tendency to wear some new things to death as well and i will do that especially with shoes and bags, and for tops, skirts, dresses? i wear them every week or so.
am loving those trousers from the 80's btw...

Love all of the outfits - especially the '80's trousers and the plaid dress. I don't usually like brown with black, but here it works! Especially when you throw some grey into the mix.

Loving the outfits (and photoshoots)...top pick grey combo with brown lovlies. question is why is queen marie so shy???

I love all the outfits, but I especially adore the sailboat dress with the red tights! Jealous.

oh, we never get sick of your photos Michelle!

really liking #1 especially

Seriously, loving all of this but especially the striped stockings & plaid. My brogues ended up at the bottom of my closet after a couple of wears but I'm definitely inspired to break them out after seeing these pics.

Firstly, you are totally rocking those stripy socks. Secondly, those grey trousers are absolutely BITCHIN'!! Thirdly, can you please stop flaunting your little-boy blazers in my face every time I come on here...

where did you get thoes grey trousers, i want them?!

Ok Rollergirl, no more boy-blazer flaunting, I promise!

Silja, they belonged to my dear Prince. They were his from the 80's and luckily his mum keeps everything, so when I was visiting her a few weekends ago, she retrieved them from the loft and I took them immediately!

I have been craving oxfords lately, yours are just f-king great. Seriously, those trousers are superb!

Oh! I was stuck on your first picture I almost didn't take notice of the last..the balenciaga effect of the puffy sleeves are fantastic too!

you should do things liek this more often! i love it :D

oh yeah, this should be like a weekly thing :D

Do you know where I can get those beautiful Carvela brogues online or State side? I've looked everywhere online with no luck. Wont get much wear out of them in Florida's Summers but i'd love to get them for Fall.

Those brogues would look seriously cool with my 'SHOES LIFE' tee!
